Real Texts From My Mom
Even though I am a mother, I still have to answer to my Mother. My mother, who has always been a somewhat nervous, anxious woman when it comes to her children, became even more “worried” about me when I got divorced. I get periodic texts from her that say things like:
“You okay?”
“Where are you?”
“”Are you okay?”
How do you feel?”
“How is Bear?”
“It’s raining very hard. Are you okay?”
“The news is reporting tornado warnings. Are you okay?”
Really mom? In New York City? For that one I had to text back,
“No! I got sucked into a funnel cloud and I am clutching onto a cow. Help!”
On my date with Kyle I received a text from my mother:
“Are you okay?”
So being the nice, loving daughter that I am, I text back:
“No! Help me! My date has kidnapped me and stuffed me in his trunk. SOS. Send Help.”
She actually wrote this response, true story:
“Great. Have fun.”
Thanks?
LOL! Your Mom and mine should hang out.
Thank you for reading and thank you for your feedback! That’s so funny! I can write a blog on her alone. But she really is the best and I am thankful for her everyday! I guess as a mother I can understand it…but the rain?! I asked her, what could happen in the rain in New York City that is so dangerous? Was it a flashflood she was concerned with? Possibly a tsunami? We never really got to the bottom of that one, other than she was concerned I didn’t have an umbrella!
yep, mine’s the same. in fact i believe they all are. im a bit irritable at times and i live in the city too. ill come home from work and eat my mock dinner sitting on the edge of my bed and eating over the floor. my mom will call or something and then i dont really want to talk, after all, ive got to eat my food and be careful it doesn’t spill everywhere. then ill get a text, “do you need me to listen?” to my teeth chewing my food? i think not.
